Thu Aug 14, 2008 at 11:02:41 AM PDT
The AP is out with new details regarding yesterdays tragic slaying of Arkansas State Party Chairman, Bill Gwatney. A glance at the diary scroll didn't show any posts so I figured I'd post for the community. If this has been diaried previous, please let me know so I can delete. Details below the jump
Dear Trolls
Tue Jun 03, 2008 at 10:32:03 PM PDT
I've seen you across the blogosphere this primary season. Truth be told, I've been watching you since that cold November night in 2006 when my party took control of Congress. Your hissy fits have provided me so much amusement these last few years.
Watching you desperately cling to worn out talking points. Your wild eyed hysteria at every minor gaffe from a Democratic candidate regardless of the inanity of the situation. Listening to your crazy conspiracy theories about how Obama is a super powerful Muslim sleeper agent who is going to eat our children while we sleep. Who can pick a favorite out of all of the stupid things you've tried these past weeks, months, and years?
But I think it's time you and I had a heart to heart chat. And before you follow me over the fold... I just want you to know... this is going to hurt you alot more than it will hurt me.
TAKE ACTION: File a complaint (Updated)
Sun May 25, 2008 at 09:23:25 PM PDT
So Liz Trotta thinks that an Obama assasination would be funny. Voicing that kind of crap is low even for a Repulbican. The diary on the rec list already has the Fox News contact information and I intend to write my own email to their VP. But the more important complaint to file is with the FCC. That is the one we really need to flood.
It's the organization that regulates these things. One of the very few things that the right wing still does better than the progressives is to affectively comunicate outrage to the correct governmental and media channels. And we have the advantage of being justified in our outrage. Maybe the FCC will not do anything. But "massive outrage at Fox News over Trotta comments" would be a nice headline.
I encourage everyone to file a complaint with the FCC. It's quick. I know, because I just got done doing it myself.
What I Took Away From WV
Wed May 14, 2008 at 12:44:52 AM PDT
With 100% reporting per CNN Hillary Clinton has bested Barack Obama in West Virgina, 67% to 26%. The total votes cast for each candidate are 239,062 for Clinton and 91,652 for Obama.
But that isn't really interesting to me. Show me a person who is surprised by that outcome and I will show you a person who doesn't follow politics. No. They incredible thing that I haven't seen anyone mention yet? In the Republican contest John McCain - running essentially unapposed - received 76% of the vote with 89,683 votes cast for him.
Just Breathe

I orignally wrote this diary as a comment in Our Past's diary here: http://www.dailykos.com/... Then I realized that it was a diary and not a comment. It's mostly contains my thoughts on the fact that both of our canidates will kick the snot out of McCain in November and a comment on my position that no one actavist within this movement is so crucial that it will hamper our electoral victories if they sit out.
Tactics: Rovian and Otherwise
Fri Mar 21, 2008 at 12:54:14 PM PDT
Over the last several weeks and months I've heard both sides of the Democratic populace use the term "Rovian" to describe the actions of their opposing camps. And that got me thinking. If Democratic candidates are using Rovian tactics, is that a bad thing? If so, can it be turned to a good thing? If they aren't using Rovian tactics... should they be?
This diary does not set out to try and pin either side of this primary contest with the term "Rovian". Rather, it is an argument that certain aspects of the Rovian ideology can be used in an ethical and pragmatic way. You don't have to decend to the muddy depths of Karl himself. But that begs the question, "If it isn't unethical, is it Rovian?"
I'll let those who are foolish enough to follow me over the jump decide that for themselves... with a poll!
So You're Mad at BillO, Huh?
Wed Feb 20, 2008 at 03:16:34 PM PDT
So am I. But being mad at BillO is kind of like breathing. You just can't help it most of the time. The problem, as I see it, for the last decade or so is that when he pulls the kind of crap like he did today we tend to just post diaries about how hateful of a man he is. We rail against Faux News and come up with alot of witty new nicknames to mock him with.
But that doesn't do much in the grand scheme of things. After reading his statement I decided I'd do some research into possible things that we can take ACTION on, to combat this type of behavior, not just from the likes of Bill O'Reilly, but from any source in the future. Follow me over the break for what I came up with.
