I have wanted to write an in depth diary as to why I am boycotting these Olympics and why I am amazed that the progressive/liberal/Democrat netroots have not called for a boycott, but... I have been way to busy.
So I leave you with some thoughts from a couple of comments I made on another diary.
"I am Boycotting these Olympics for many reasons.
I will NOT give china and credit and praise for what they do. This reminds me of the Nazi Olympics, but with OUR support and money helping to showcase them as the new economic, and soon to be, military superpower."
...
"As you revel in the spectacle of the Olympics, I hope you think of a few things like...
Darfur/Sudan, of the mistreatment of lower end workers and slave labor, of the 2.3 million jobs lost from the USA to China during the bush regime, the 1.4 TRILLION dollars we OWE china, of Fulan Gong (sp?), of TIBET, and on and on and on...."
It seems we are having similar fundraising issues across this country. Have we democrats become a little complacent or are we just hitting our financial limits?
Republican gubernatorial candidate Dino Rossi's campaign reported Tuesday that it has topped its fundraising total from the 2004 campaign, having now raised more than $6,254,035.80.
Rossi is again challenging Gov. Chris Gregoire, the Democrat who prevailed in '04 by 133 votes out of almost 3 million cast after two recounts and a court fight.
As of May 31 Gregoire had reported raising about $6.8 million.
I am not suggesting that Gov. Chris Gregoire is not raising money. I am suggesting that she should be doing better, much better! I do not see this as just a fault of her or her campaign, because in my opinion, this is also partly the fault of all of us.
Typical of most Americans and most people in modern society, we shorten the descriptive title and the meaning of important events and important days to remember.
I believe that we all refer to Independence Day as the 4th of July. In doing so, I believe we loose the real meaning of this day.
Thom Hartmann did a wonderful show the other day, where he dedicated the last hour of that show to the true meaning of what the 4th of July or Independence Day really stands for.
This is what July 4th, this Nation, the Declaration of Independence and our Constitution are all about. Thom Hartmann hour 3 - 7/1/08 - KPOJ The first half hour is split between his reading of the Declaration of Independence (in typical Thom style) and passages from his book "What Would Jefferson Do".
It should draw a tear from you as it did many of the callers (last half hour) and myself.
There is so much talk going on all over the "tubes" lately about what Wes Clark said and meant.
To get a little perspective about how Wes Clark feels about Obama and what he has been saying about McCain, try reading his own words from his personal blog at WesPAC.
After reading his words and understanding where he is coming from, then listen to what he has to say. Check out all of the video and audio from the last few days by going here:
All appearance times are subject to change. We suggest tuning in at the top of the show.
General Clark will also appear Tuesday morning on ABC's Good Morning America. See:http://securingamerica.com/node/3001 for details

I know that this may not be good form, but I am going to do it anyway.
Instead of cut and pasting whole diaries and cross posting diaries from blog friends at EENR, I will just give you a little taste. These are all well written, good diaries that need to be read.
First off, I cross posted a diary at MyDD for poligirl last night. If you missed it, check it out now.
Memo to The Senators: Ways YOU Can Stop the FISA Bill (aka We're Sick of Excuses) http://www.mydd.com/...
Could someone please tell me how I can join "noquarter" and "Hillaryis44"? I want to join so that I can challenge them (or maybe yell). I went to both of these for the first time just minutes ago.
I have an idea or two as to how these two sites can be challenged.
I know we are far out from the GE. I know that Hillary has been taking some time off to relax but I also know that she has been making calls to big money supporters of hers and her delegates asking them to support Obama.
He is fulfilling a promise he made months ago. He was supposed to be on the show but got tied up at a local event. So he promised to come on the show at a later date.
Well after Dennis Kucinich put forward his Articles of Impeachment, they figured NOW was a good time to have him on the show.
Equal Time Radio is a small local progressive talk show that is self funded. It is based in an area near Tacoma WA. Their show can be heard every Friday from Noon to 1pm PDT / 3pm to 4pm EDT and Dennis Kucinich will get the first half of the show.

Because I do not have the time to do this justice on my own, I am going to be "stealing" some stuff directly from OneCarolinaGirl at EENR Blog.

There is some great Happy Birthday stuff for John Edwards in her diary. Many of the comments include personal pictures comments and experiences.
So join me, join OneCarolinaGirl and all of the other John Edwards supporters at the EENR Blog in wishing John Edwards a Very Happy 55th Birthday!
I am cross posting this for a fellow blogger. The original is at MyDD.
The following comment is from the diaries author:
[I originally posted this diary a couple of weeks ago, but now with the primary being over with, perhaps some will view this issue differently and join the chorus in decrying sexism from the media. I encourage all that agree to sign the petition listed at the bottom.]
On May 23rd, the Women's Media Center together with Media Matters launched a new video and online petition campaign illustrating the pervasive nature of sexism in the media's coverage entitled "Sexism Sells, But We're Not Buying It."
This is one of the many reasons I still believe that we are not getting who we need for president.
It is interesting that this came out today, but it has nothing to do with the primary campaign.
Help me in North Carolina
I want to begin by thanking each of you for all of your support and commitment over the last year. It has meant so much to Elizabeth and me. We have been very busy since January working on the causes that got us into the campaign in the first place -- helping to build the One America we all believe in.
You may have heard me talk about one of those programs called College for Everyone -- a scholarship pilot project that Elizabeth and I started a few years ago in Greene County, North Carolina.
The program is based on a simple promise to students: make good grades, work at least 10 hours a week, and stay out of trouble -- and the program will help pay for your first year of college. Since we launched this effort in 2005, the percentage of Greene County high school graduates attending college has increased from 54 percent to 74 percent.
I am going to steal some of what "greatwhitebuffalo" wrote here at Dkos, which got very little attention, and add some current updates.
This is the story of medical marijuana, the law of unintended consequences and the astonishing obtuseness on the part of physicians who in acquiring godlike authority over life and death seem to have lost touch with their own basic humanity.
It's a heck of a story. Got time to make a difference? Read on.
