Democrats need to make a very concerted effort to win the state of Georgia in November 2020. Georgia has 16 electoral votes as well as two U.S. Senate seats up for grabs next year. President Obama lost Georgia by 8 points in 2012, Hillary lost it by 5 points in 2016, and Stacey Abrams lost by a bit over 1 point (or 50,000 votes out of almost 4 million cast) in 2018:

Most pundits rate Georgia as lean-GOP or even likely-GOP.
Imho, it should be rated as a pure tossup - as several recent datapoints lean in that direction.

Second point ...
“Georgia’s voting rolls have swollen over the last 10 months. Many of those newly-registered voters are new to the state, and Democrats think they’re going to help flip the state next year … The surge is rooted in a new state law that automatically registered hundreds of thousands of new voters ...
The state says more than 310,000 new voters have registered in 2019. Of those, 47 percent of them are people of color. Another 45 percent are under age 30, according to Fair Fight Georgia, the liberal group launched by Democrat Stacey Abrams.”

Third point …
“In Georgia, new citizens constitute more than 440,000 potential voters, the group estimated. President Donald Trump won the state by roughly 200,000 votes in 2016.”

There are several factors here which are aligning just right for us Democrats. We really do not want to miss an opportunity to turn Georgia blue in 2020.
